♥ My personal Top 5 Favourite Pokemon

Hey wassup everyone!! Ruby here. So today I shall be talking about my top 5 favourite pokemon. In this list, i am not judging the pokemon based on their looks only but also their typings and movepool. I had a hard time narrowing down my top 5 as I like most pokemon and if I had to list down all of them, the list would be endless. So after some deliberation, I finally come up with these 5. Pls enjoy~

5) Lucario
The first time I saw a lucario was in pokemon movie 10- Lucario and the mystery of Mew. I was fascinated at the prospect that there was a pokemon who could actually sense people's auras. Furtermore, in the movie, I pitied Lucario as he was abandoned by his former trainer who sacrificed himself to protect the kingdom. Overall, Lucario being a steel/fighting was unique to 4th gen and it is the only pokemon that has that typing. Being steel type makes psychic attacks non-effective but it also gives Lucario a weakness to ground and fighting thus making Lucario's typing a double-edged sword. But due to Lucario's good attack and speed, most players are able to get around these setbacks. In 4th gen you could only obtain a Riolu egg from Riley at Iron Island but in 5th gen, Riolu was made catchable in the wild and was one of the most overused pokemon. The addition of Lucario in Super Smash Bros Brawl made me like this pokemon more and thus it has made it to my top 5.

4) Togekiss
Just when you thought Togepi's evolution couldn't get any cuter, Togekiss appeared. It's so graceful and it's design is what caught my attention initially. Togekiss in my opion is one of the bulkier and better normal types in 4th gen. if you decided to raise the Togepi that Cynthia gave you in Eterna City, you could eventually evolve it with a shiny stone to get Togekiss. It's a normal/flying type but is able to cover its weaknesses due to it's wide movepool. I have always like the Togepi family ever since Misty had one and seeing Dawn use Togekiss in the Grand Festival finals against Zoe is just prove that Togekiss is a very versatile pokemon and well, very sociable and friendly. I mean just look at those eyes...they stare into ur soul!! XD

3) Hydreigon
Hydreigon is my favourite dragon-type in 5th gen. And I do know that people debate on which is better- Hydreigon vs Haxorus. But I find them equally powerful since I used both of them before. I guess it's cuz Axew is more frequently used as it is catchable earlier on so I decided to show the Deino family some love and I ended up really liking them :3 Deino can't be caught in the game, you can only breed it. Zweilous is available only on Victory Road and it takes so long to evolve(lv 64) that not many people want to put it on their team. Lucky for me, my friend traded me her Deino and that's how I raised it slowly with my sweat, blood and tears T^T Deino is extremely slow, not only in terms of stats but also to evolve. It becomes Zweilous at lv 50 which improves it's speed by abit but unfortunately, it still carries the Hustle ability which makes attacks more powerful but decreases the accuracy of moves. Finally, my hard work pays off when it becomes Hydreigon at lv 64. It's speed drastically increases and it turns from being a physical sweeper to a special sweeper. Also Hydreigon has is a part dark type making it immune to psychic attacks. Overall, Hydreigon really tests one's patience, unless you use cheats and it is also one of the few dragons who has better sp.att than att thus making me like it =D

2) Espeon
You should definitely have seen this coming. Espeon has been a staple on my team since 2nd gen. I fell head over heels in love with it when it's design was first released, it was also pink in colour, so fabulous \(^0^)/ Apart from its cute looks, this pink thing packs a punch. It is known to be the best out of all the eeveelutions with amazing sp.att, sp.def and speed. Ever since eevee was made catchable in B2/W2, I have always made it a point to stop at Castelia Garden and attempt to catch one. OF course with only a 5% encounter rate, I normally spend about 20-30 mins searching XD

1) Dragonair
This was the pokemon that made dragon-type my favourite type in pokemon. Now do note that I mentioned Dragonair and maybe also Dratini but NOT Dragonite. There is just one thing that I don't understand about this evolution. Why does a blue serpent suddenly grow arms and legs and wings and becomes a yellow thing?!! That makes no sense at all!! Dragonair's final evolution has always been a mystery to me and I have always felt that Dragonite should have been from an entirely different evolution line. Don't get me wrong though, I don't hate Dragonite, it's an awesome pokemon!! But for the most part of it, Dragonair always awes me.(as in me saying awwwww XD ) Just look at Dratini, awwww, so kawaii~ <3 Yea... that's how I liked this pokemon so much. And it's also very rare!! Back in the old days, you could only catch Dratini at the safari zone(r/b/y/g/) or at dragon's den (g/s/c). Then starting in 4th gen, it became an after-game pokemon. It was also the very first dragon-type pokemon and it started the trend for other dragons to evolve fully in the lv 50s. Just like Hydreigon, this pokemon requires a lot of patience to raise but the end results are always satisfying. Besides, this pokemon also brings back great memories of my younger days playing pokemon which is why it's my favourite of all the 600+ pokemon today =)

So hoped you guys enjoyed today's post. Stay tuned for more post updates and stuff and feel free to leave a comment on which pokemon(s) are your favorites and why. If you want me to do reviews on a particular game/anime, do comment too. Cheers to all pokemon fans~ ^.^
